Anyone who owns an Indoor pizza oven, or a regular oven for that matter, will want to pick up Epic Indoor Pizza Oven Cookbook: Recipes and Techniques for All Kinds of Pizza – for All Brands of Indoor Pizza Ovens, by former geologist turned pizza connoisseur and expert pizza maker, Jonathon Schuhrke. This excellent cookbook is divided into chapters based on the types of pizza, i.e., New York Style, Thin & Crispy, Artisan, Neapolitan, Sicilian, Detroit Style, Bar Style, and Handheld and Desserts. Who knew there were so many kinds of pizza? There are special crust recipes for each of the types of pizza; being of the lazy type, I make mine in my automatic bread machine. The recipes are very easy to follow and are written in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions. This author knows his stuff and makes the recipes easy to make for both beginners and veteran pizza makers. The introductory chapters cover different types of pizza ovens as well as how to make great pizza with a standard oven. I have tried a few of the recipes in my outdoor pizza oven and they work perfectly.
Most of the recipes include beautiful, professional photographs, making it difficult to decide which pizza to make today. The recipes are not only for standard, well-known pizzas, but also some unique and unusual pizzas that are definitely appealing.
All told, this is an excellent pizza cookbook and worth adding to a good cookbook collection.
